Martin Parr: Oxford
- Hardcover: 160 pages
- Publisher: Oxford University Press; 1 edition (December 1, 2017)
In this wonderful photo essay, English photographer Martin Parr returns to his alma mater to photograph the people, culture and rituals of Oxford University. In typical Martin Parr style, he offers an unvarnished look at his subjects – in all their grace or awkwardness, dignity or irreverence-and digs down to show their humanity. As an added bonus, the essay penned by Martin Parr about his first interactions with Oxford as an aspiring student is engagingly written with warmth and humour. Worth reading, although a book like this is obviously, first and foremost about the photographs.
